Entrepreneurship & Value Creation · Lesson 9

The Economics of Time

How you spend your time is the most consequential financial decision you make, and most people never treat it that way.

About this lesson

Time is money you cannot save. Everyone gets the same twenty-four hours and none of it banks. Pay kids by the job, not the hour, and watch them give themselves a raise. Hours are enjoyed on purpose, invested, or leaked.

What you’ll learn

  • People pay for the finished job, not the hours you stretched.
  • Sort hours: enjoyed on purpose, invested, or leaked.
  • A skill hour can raise the price of every future hour.
  • A calendar is a financial statement. Show where the hours went.
