About this lesson
Financial statements have a terrifying reputation. Underneath they are three questions: did we make money, what do we own and owe, and where did the cash move? Start with their own month, then a lemonade stand, then a brand they already love. Profit is an opinion. Cash is a fact.
What you’ll learn
- A financial statement is the story of a business, told in numbers.
- Write one page for one month: everything in, everything out, what is left.
- Own minus owe is your number, and it only moves for people who track it.
- The giant brand is a lemonade stand with more zeros. You can hear it talking now.
