About this lesson
You remember what a movie ticket cost at sixteen. Your teenager does not. Dollars melt: a bill in a drawer looks permanent, and each year it quietly buys a little less. Lend them your price memory, then show them the difference between parking money for safety and owning things that float on the tide.
What you’ll learn
- Things were not cheap back then. Dollars were bigger.
- A raise below inflation is a pay cut wearing a bow.
- Pay a little melt for safety. Do not pay it for neglect.
- Skills, ownership, and reputation hold their length when dollars do not.
