Investing & Wealth Stewardship · Lesson 10
Asset Protection & Entity Structure
How families use LLCs, holding companies, and other structures to protect what they’ve built and separate risk from personal wealth.
Ages18–25Runtime to be confirmed
About this lesson
When a side hustle is just you, a lawsuit or a bad deal can splash onto the car and the savings. An LLC is a legal boat: the venture lives inside it, so a bad day sinks the boat, not the person on the dock. Limited liability is what lets ordinary people afford to try.
What you’ll learn
- A venture needs its own boat once revenue and risk get real.
- Open a separate account before any filing. Separation of money is the habit that makes the paperwork work.
- Insurance is the lifejacket, not the boat.
- Read your state's filing page before you pay anyone to do it for you.
